Escadrille Still Life, photo by Dan Patterson

We need contributions like yours in order to finish this film by April of 2018. The Centennial of WWI concludes in November of 2018. There will be many opportunities in 2017 and 2018 to leverage Centennial events and activities to promote this production, screen the film and spread its inspiring message.

Our immediate funding goal is $500,000—doubling our first grant of $250,000. These funds will allow us to continue filming in the Spring 2017 in France and New Zealand—to film the unit’s locations, interview French family members and historians, and continue our aerial filming with both full-scale and custom built large-scale radio controlled fighters. The Lafayette Escadrille will be the ideal companion to The Millionaires’ Unit. Together, the two films tell the complete story of the self-sacrificing self-starters who fostered the birth of American combat aviation.

Please consider of a donation to The Lafayette Escadrille by supporting this important and timely documentary. This is a film for all Americans during this momentous centennial—a story of service and sacrifice that honors our past, and how remembrance of that past can affect us today.
